How do I sign up for aimOnPsp?
You do not need to sign up to use aimOnPsp. Just use your AOL Instant Messenger screenname and password to log in and IM your friends. If you do not have an AIM screenname, you can get one at aim.com.
How do I add buddies?
Unfortunately, you currently cannot edit your buddylist through aimOnPsp. If you would like to IM someone that is not on your buddylist, simply type their screenname into the textbox at the bottom of your buddylist.
Why do I get logged out after 15 minutes of inactivity?
Since server room is limited, our server will automatically sign you out after 15 minutes if you have closed your browser or navigated away from aimOnPsp. This limit does not apply if you have turned on an away message. In any case, there is a two-hour maximum limit on aimOnPsp.
How can I browse other websites while logged into aimOnPsp?
If you open another tab in the PSP browser, the aimOnPsp window will steal focus every time it refreshes because of a bug in the PSP browser. So, in order to browse other websites we suggest you set an away message (since you won't be able to respond to IMs) and then click the "Edit settings/profile" button. This will temporarily stop the IM window from refreshing. Now you can open another tab and browse the internet. When you are done browsing other sites, go back to the aimOnPsp tab and click "Cancel" on the settings page. You will be returned to your IM window and buddylist.
My PSP seems to freeze up while I'm trying to IM someone.
This could be due to the speed of your wireless connection. You may want to check your WiFi signal strength. The PSP browser tends to "freeze" while attempting to download data, and the IM windows attempt to refresh every 10 seconds. We currently do not have a good way around this bug in the PSP browser.
